An ode to water

Thought I'd change things up a bit. Man does not live by politics, beavers and pussys alone you know.

What a miraculous thing water is. Two atoms of hydrogen and one oxygen make such an unusual and wonderful substance. Water is everywhere. Seventy percent of the earth's surface is covered with water. It's in the air, on the ground, under the ground and even we are 75% water. It makes plants grow, keeps our bodies hydrated and makes for sweeter social interactions. We wash ourselves with it cook with it and clean our houses and cars with it. We drink it, gargle with it and rid ourselves of human wastes with it. We pipe it, bottle it, pump it, freeze it, filter it, flavor it, ionize it, oxygenate it, and bag it. We swim in it, boat in it and explore it's depths. We boil it for cooking and add it to so many dishes then when the dishes are empty we clean them with a bit of soap and hot water. That would be water heated with electricity made from water. From coal fired to nuclear to hydro it's all made with water.
And when we've about poisoned ourselves it's water to the rescue. In the event of accidental ingestion administer several glasses of water and seek medical attention. And on a larger scale flush chemicals to the nearest storm drain.

But then again lowly water gets no respect. "What do you mean you'll just have a glass of water? What are you a cheap skate?" And that knocked over glass at the dinner table. "Hey it's only a little water it isn't going to hurt you".

Water can be destructive but it's not waters' fault. It's only doing what it's told. The wind blows there and water goes there. No evil god of Neptune controlling water.

We think nothing of dumping in the nearest body of water be it a river, lake or stream every manner of residential commercial or industrial waste. After all out of sight out of my mind anyway. But water is forgiving with no real soul going about its' natural process of evaporating condensing and cleaning itself. And water is indestructible. Split into its' component parts it will regroup and turn back into water. And not to forget that it can be a solid a liquid and a gas, one of the few substances on earth that can do that.

Good ole H2O can't leave home without it.

That is an awesome tribute to the most important substance on earth. Amazing, isn't it? Life exists because of the peculiar bonding properties of two light gases in combination. Fall on it the wrong way from about 30 feet and it is like hitting concrete.
Can I reprint this? (sans reference to pussies of course. My sister would die).

Water will have a lot more respect after the world's water supplies have been bought and privatized by a few global corporations.

I got a laugh out of the part about ordering water in a restaraunte ... I alwayz have water with my meal's actually, I hardly ever see anyone else ordering water, and it seem's never anyone I'm with. I actually buy water by the case (of bottle's) my fridge has alwayz at least a dozen cold one's alwayz, I have 5 unopened cases right now still! : ) But yeah, I drink alot of it!

When water gets tired of us, rises up, and liquid behemoths stride the land, we are so fucked.

I once learned a logic chain of things necessary for survival. Air is No. 1; five minutes or so without it and it's all over, with extremely rare exception. Water is No. 2. You can't go more than two or three days without it. Food is No. 3, although you can go a few weeks without that.

In my own personal list, coffee is No. 4. I don't know how long I could go without it before croaking because I've never put it to the test. I'm sure it would be only a matter of days. And of course, water is necessary for making coffee.

Great post with a terrific illustration.

Tom, a French corporation is hard at work on that. I understand it's already bought up several municipal water supplies in the U.S., as well as many in Europe.

What's the matter Fodder your sister doesn't like animals?

Tom in that case I'll corner the market on rain barrels.

Billy you really need to pay more attention to the weather forecast.

Ice is nice but cheddar is better.

With bottle water we'll land up drowning the planet in plastic.

I'm ready for em Randal. Armed with hair dryers bailing pumps and carpet extractors.

Actually respect is number one but I'll leave that for another post. Here in the Northwest coffee is No. 1.

Oops I missed the 9 part of your ice reference. Thought it was a new hairdo for your smiley face.

In that case forget the vacs and blowers send me a couple of MIT physicists.

I rarely comment, but I glanced through some comments here
"An ode to water". I actually do have a couple of questions for
you if it's allright. Could it be only me or does it seem like some of these comments appear as if they are left by brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are writing at other online social sites, I would like to keep up with everything new you have to post. Could you make a list of the complete urls of your social networking sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

Hey this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know
if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
